Help with Ben's vet bills
Back in Febuary, a small 3 month old german shepherd puppy walked into our lives. He was quiet and only wanted to lay with us for cuddles. We named him Bento, or Ben for short. He lives the best life a dog could live. Eats great, goes to the dog park daily to see his usual friends, and even gets to do his favorite thing in the world at least once a week now thats is summer; SWIM.
We went to the lake this past Saturday and suddenly the next day his mouth didn't smell right. I brush his teeth usually at least once a week so I went to brush his teeth and got blood. Needless to say, I was worried. I cleaned his mouth out and decided to keep an eye on him.
Today I took him to the park and as soon as we walked through the gate the right side of his mouth just started bleeding -bad-. My friends looked at his mouth and he looks way worse today than yesterday. He has a definate infection going on now. He is going to see a vet tomorrow to get antibiotics and to get a quote on the dental work but we dont know what is causing the infection so he will most likely need an xray, antibiotics, and possibly needs to be put under to clean his back teeth that have suddenly gotten nasty.
As much as I -hate- asking for money, we are in a tight spot. I am umemployeed due to living in such a small area of Germany. I've been trying for months with no results. We live basically paycheck to paycheck.. We have some money to help cover his visit tomorrow but anything I cant pay- my local german friend is going to loan me. However, I want to be able to pay her back asap. We also know it can be very expensive for an 80lb dog to get dental work done.. so literally any dollar helps.. I dont want him to suffer with an infection because we cant afford it.
He has been my rock since he came into our lives. My husband is part of the US Army and has to be gone a lot. This dog is literally the reason I got up out of bed every day when my husband was gone. He is the reason I still get out of bed and even go outside to be social at the dog park. He's an amazing dog and I want him to get the best care as soon as possible.
We thank you for reading. Please, spread the word and help us make sure this gets taken care of asap. <3
