Street-Level Anime Club Projects
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Tamairis Dixon. I am 20 years old, live in Chicago, and I am the leader of Street-Level Youth Media’s Anime Club. We are trying to raise money to support our club.
In 2011, I co-founded Anime Club at Street-Level. Anime Club is a group created by youth as a hub for other youth who are interested in anime, as well as gaining a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.
The club also teaches kids how to do video & audio editing, graphic design, and journalism techniques in order to produce our own original artwork, podcasts, and videos. We’re creating our own original anime characters and voice dubbing.
Since the club’s start we have attended and documented anime conventions such as Anime Central, Anime World Chicago, Kollision Con, Con Alt Delete, and Ramencon. We interview artists, writers, and voice actors/actress like us and produce videos and podcasts of our experience.
Examples of our work:
Kollision Con 2013 here: https://youtu.be/SImp78kPl98.

Anime Club is seeking donations to help the get supplies to work on more bigger projects and continue to document anime culture through multimedia.
Thank you for supporting our club!
