Rebuild Zenoria Baptist Church

My name is Joel Johnson, pastor of Zenoria Baptist.  Zenoria is a small community located on highway 500 on the western edge of LaSalle Parish in the state of Louisiana.
  In 1916, Charley Carey and  L.L. Davidson built a sawmill on Little River.  J.O. Nelson, a businessman from Chicago bought the mill and renamed it Zenoria LBR.,Co. LTD.   Zenoria quickly became a boom town.  camps, mill houses, a commissary, school, and church were soon functioning.

  The church was Zenoria Baptist Church.
A permanent building was built in 1922, that building was our current sanctuary.  It was the only remaining original structure in our community.  It has survived through these last 95 years.  But the unprecedented flood in March of 2016, floated the floor of the church to the ceiling and moved the walls. 

Due to the damage to the original building and the fellowship hall, built in 1954, both are damaged beyond repair.  The Church had no flood insurance. 

The sanctuary and fellowship hall underwent major renovations in 2012-13 and the Church added an enclosed children's playground.  The flood waters tore the playground equipment from their moorings and floated them away.      

                                                                        Zenoria Baptist Church of 2016 will be as our forbearers of faith.  We will build a new building for the Saints of Zenoria, and surrounding area, to meet in and reach the lost for Christ.                                                                                We have set a goal of $250,000 to replace what it has taken 100 years to build.  Pray for Zenoria Baptist Church and Zenoria community.  GOD Bless each of you as you do.
