and all of its Board Members.
The Wagaman Mill in Lynnville Ia has been an important part of our community since the 1840s. It is rich in history and now houses the Wagaman Mill and Museum ran by the Lynnville Historical Society, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
The building houses the wheel house along with historical exhibits donated by the residents of Lynnville and their descendants.
The basement under the oldest part of the mill has sandstone walls. Over the years rainwater has ran down East St slowly damaging the Mill's South wall. A number of years back a drainage grate was installed to help with the issue but it was not able to completely stop the water.
Sadly at the end of May 2015 the south basement wall caved in. Without repairing the basement wall we risk losing the Mill and all the history it stands for, so the Historical Society unanimously voted to save the Mill.
Unfortunately this is not something we could have for seen, it is not something we can put off to a later date nor is it an unnecessary expense that we could choose not to do. This came without warning so there has been no planning or time for fund raisers and we are now faced with raising $32,000. That amount will not only replace the South wall but also stabilize the East and West walls making the entire basement structurally sound for the future of the Mill.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
More information and progress on this project can be seen on the Mill's Facebook page

The mill is currently closed as the necessary work is being done with plans to reopen in August of this year.
