Ama's Recovery Support Fund.
Today our beloved Ama experienced the unimaginable. An unknown intruder entered her home, and assaulted her with a knife. She's currently in the ICU recovering after undergoing open heart surgery for stab wounds. (At Ama's request, the location will not be disclosed at this time) We hope you understand her desire for some privacy as she recovers). Her children are safe and without injury, but she needs all of our help. She'll be out of work and recovering for at least the next month on short term disability (maybe more) and as a mom with two small children to support, the decrease in income along with the horrible circumstances will be overwhelming. She's already doing the best she can to make ends meet. Her desire has also been to move into a better neighborhood for herself and her children, and in light of today’s events and the great amount of anxiety she would experience if she had to return to the house where the assault took place, that must happen sooner rather than later.
We wanted to help her to raise money for:
• Maintaining her current living expenses (food, car note, insurance, etc.) in spite of the significant decrease in income
• Assisting with paying for additional child care while she recovers
• Covering travel expenses so Ama’s immediate family can travel to Baltimore from Florida
• Paying out of pocket medical expenses
• Relocation expenses
• Any additional unforeseen expenses or personal needs
