Translation of my Books

Donation protected
I am SF, fantasy and horror writer with 20 years of writing experience. I am of Russian origin, but as an enemy of Putin's regime I left Russia and moved to the USA. Before I did it, seven my books were sold to major Russian publishing companies (Eksmo, AST, Armada - Alfa-kniga). Also tens of my short stories and novellas were published in anthologies and magazines in Russia and several other countries including the USA. My novels "The Wings" and "Pilot from Frontier" have received appreciations and "Editorial choice" selection with rating of 9/10 from the leading Russian speculative fiction magazine "Mir fantastiki"("World of Speculative Fiction"). My novel "Age of Sword" won the 3rd place in readers voting for the book of the year (2002) on the publisher's (Armada) website. My short story "Pattern" won the first prize on the SF story contest of Olma publishing company in 2008. My horror/SF novella "Despair" was translated and published in Polish anthology "Kroki w nieznane 2011" ("Steps into Unknown") under the same cover with Dan Simmons and K. J. Parker.

However, my works remain mostly unknown to my new American homeland and the rest of English-speaking world (one of the few exclusions is my short story "The Farm" published by Buzzy Mag under my pen name George Right). While I've translated several of my short stories and novellas myself (story collections "D" and "Lite in the Darkness" are available at Amazon), translating of big novels is beyond my capabilities. Professional translators take 12 cents per word, which makes about $25000 for a 215K-words novel. This is totally unaffordable for me, too. And no publisher will do it at his own expense, of course, unless for a world-known author. I am not world-known (yet), but, as you could see, I have some credentials, and my books are for those who like serious and thought-provoking, not just entertaining fiction. See more details about my books (with annotations) here .

I thought I had to give up my dream about being published in English, but then I found GoFundMe, and that revived my hope. So every donation will be very much welcome, and if you like speculative fiction, you will benefit from it, too. Depending on the sum collected, I'm going to translate either "The Sentence"  or "The Wings" (the first 10% of it is translated already and can be seen here ) or maybe a shorter novel, and to try to find an agent/a publisher in the USA. Even if these attempts fail, the novel will be published for Kindle, so your donations won't be lost in vain anyway.

Please inform your friends about my campaign, especially those who like SF&F!
