Young Life Camp in Austria!! “Winter Blitz 2014”
Young Life Oregon/SW - Washington has been asked to help staff an Outreach camp in Innsbruck, Austria!
The camp is a joint venture with Military Community Youth Ministries (MCYM/Club Beyond), a non-profit, cooperative venture combining the vision and skills of two major Christian youth outreach organizations: Young Life and Youth for Christ. MCYM (referred to as Club Beyond in local communities) responds to the requests from military chaplains, parents, and commanders to place youth workers, where invited to do so, working under the provisions of the government contracts. Each year, MCYM offers a week-long outreach camp to the high school students involved in Club Beyond communities in the European Theater.
To make this camp happen, one Young Life region in the U.S. is asked to help each year. As a volunteer in Oregon/SW Washington I have been invited to serve on the Work Crew. Duties will include being in charge of kitchen duties (washing dishes, bussing table), set up dining room for meals, set up and tear down for clubs, collecting and separating trash from rooms (recycling is very big in Europe), different winter activities during the day (building snowman / igloo competitions, sledding, etc). Also, some optional roles are: Sound Tech/AV, Videographer/Photographer, etc.
I am beyond excited and I feel so privilege to have this opportunity to share the Gospel with teenagers growing up on Military Bases. I would love for you to put December 26 to January 3 on your calendars as those will be the days I will be serving at the camp and would love your prayers now and during my trip.

Each of us volunteering is being asked to come up with $2,000 to cover airfare and other expenses. If the camp had to pay for all our expenses it would put the price of camp out of reach for most campers. This is another way in which we can serve campers.
