Helping Srebrenica Genocide Victims

In the days following Srebrenica’s fall, more than 8,300 Bosnian men and boys were systematically massacred and buried in mass graves. Thousands of women, children and elderly people were forcibly deported and a large number of women were raped. It was the greatest atrocity on European soil since the Second World War.
July 11th 2015 marks the 20th anniversary of the Genocide. On this Srebrenica Remembrance Day we will be paying tribute to the victims of the Genocide.
We are also raising money and all proceeds will go to children and families of Srebrenica. These are children and families who not only have lost their loved ones, but most of them lost all of their possessions. Some who had left their homes are being forced to now return to Srebrenica, with their homes being completely torn apart and no help from the government. We would like to focus on schools, orphanages and those families who are most in need. We are hoping with your help to make a difference in their shattered lives.
Twenty years later, Bosnia-Herzegovina is still struggling to recover from three years of bloody conflict in the early 1990s.
Now, access to education is limited, especially in rural areas. Of the one in twenty children aged five to 14 who are involved in child labour, it is those from rural areas that represent two thirds of this figure.
Unemployment stands at 45%, the highest in Europe, and one in five lives in poverty.
We have other ways of collecting donations locally in Phoenix, AZ and have already started the process. We ask you kindly to join us, and please remember that every dollar helps.
