Liver Transplant Fund

This fund is for my spouse, the love of my life. We have been married since 1995. A decade into our marriage, my partner realized she was a woman, not the male gender she'd been assigned at birth. In fact we both decided to transition in the opposite trajectory. Because she was transitioning, her doctor put her on a high dose of Estradiol. All was fine until May 4th of this year. She called me from work saying she was having a hard time breathing. I rushed her to the ER when the world fell away from us. She was diagnosed with rapid onset End Stage Liver Disease. Despite the good luck of being accepted by a world renowned hosptial to be on their livery candidate list, she was been in the hospital three times in less than two months. One of those times she was rushed to the ICU as she slipped into a coma. Her bodily functions are shutting down and it is only constant medical intervention now that will save her. We desperately wait for the call saying there is a liver for her. As librarians, we both make very little and I, her husband, have been forced to stop working to care for her and make sure she doesn't slip back into a coma. We can't live off her disability checks, however. Without this fund, I don't know how to keep paying the rent, food, and medical bills.
