Jon & Angel Wedding/Honeymoon Fund!
Jonathan and Angel have been happily together since 6/7/2008... over 7 years! And what an amazing 7 years it's been...
The last 7 years have brought many awesome adventures, countless smiles, hours of laughter, and a lifetime of love.
It has also brought many moves (including across the country... twice), a handful of job changes, financial uncertainty and various life stresses.
However, while the future is never certain, one thing that is for sure is that the love shared between these two people has endured every obstacle, overcome every adversity, and weathered every storm. And in the end, their love only grows stronger with each passing day.
Now they face a new challenge... paying for a wedding.
The couple is hoping to host a small group of family and friends for a serene wedding in the Smoky Mountains. Rent a cabin, have a cookout, watch the sun set and enjoy the company of those closest to them on their special day. A modest, yet beautiful little mountain wedding, followed by a trip to the Northeast US to honeymoon together in quiet solitude, engulfed by the beauty of nature.
Unfortunately, no cabin will accept a down payment of love. And as for money, the couple's resources are extremely thin, making the idea of one day becoming a married couple akin to a far-fetched fantasy... unless they get some help.
Money is needed to reserve and pay for the cabin (minimum 4 day rental), which will also serve as a reception area for guests. They will need money for food, drinks, travel, chair rentals, wedding attire, decorations, invitations, and to pay the help, along with travel/lodging accommodations for the honeymoon if there is enough. Any leftover funds will not be wasted, as that will help the newlyweds transition smoothly into their new life together.
Hopefully, through the generous donations of friends, family and well-wishers, their dream can become a reality, and their commitment to each other made official as husband and wife. Nothing in this world would make them happier.
And now, a word from the Groom-to-be...
Hey everyone, it's Jon.
I find it much easier to speak to you directly instead of writing this like an essay about two random people I know. I also find it a lot easier to say what I really want to say this way.
The truth is, I love this woman with all my heart. From the moment she came into my life, I've wanted nothing more than to make her as happy as I can.
This special day, while I will cherish it for the rest of my life, I want more than anything for it to be everything she has dreamed of. I want a lovely ceremony and a beautiful location for her. I want her to look around at her friends, at nature, at me, and feel like she is the most special woman in the world. Because to me, she is.
She's lived a very hard life, full of pain and heartache, and lacking the love she desperately needed. Though somehow she emerged from it all with her own love still intact, hoping to share it with one who would appreciate her.
She has been engaged before, to men who lacked the motivation and the will to see their commitments through. Time and time again she has been let down, with nothing but a ring and an empty promise.
I want to be the one who bucks that trend. I want to be the one who finally comes through on his promise to her. I want to give her the love she requires, the life she deserves, and the special day she's dreamed of.
The desire to marry Angel has always been there, pretty much since we got together. But the funds, the living arrangement, the situation has never been right before. But I'm tired of waiting for that perfect situation that may never come.
Life is far too short. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, for us or for anyone. And the more time stubbornly presses on, the more eager I am to start my life as her husband, with her as my wife.
It is with that burning desire that I come before you now, hoping that my cause is worthy enough for your consideration. And please know that every dollar donated is reciprocated with an appreciation far outshining the mere monetary value of your donation. The money donated here is helping to fund a dream of love. And a love such as ours is priceless...
