Next Chapter: Mission Ghana

Donation protected
Hey friends! Thanks for tuning in. First, I want to say a huuuge thank you to all of you who have supported me, whether it be with donations, encouraging words, or prayers. I am overwhelmed with gratitude, and I couldn't do any of it without you! For those of you who are reading for the first time, please scroll down and read what I've been up to, and what has compelled me to my next adventure. Please also watch the video about the great organization that is Mercy Project.

So, this September I am taking a semester break from school at Univ. of Hawaii, and I am headed to Ghana to work alongside Mercy Project for the semester. Earlier in the year I had been getting the feeling of restlessness, and I couldn't get a feeling of what I wanted to be doing, and where I wanted to be. I think it is safe to say that after living in three different states in three years, I am a roamer. I was just having an issue of knowing and deciding where I needed to be at this time in my life.
It wasn't until I talked to Clint Askins a little bit that I knew I wanted to move to Africa and join with helping this organization called Mercy Project. He mentioned to me at first, and I turned down the idea. But, as I contemplated and did a lot of praying over my future, the idea of moving to Ghana kept popping up. So, I knew God was telling me to go. For those who don’t know, Mercy Project is an organization working in Ghana, that is helping to free the estimated 7,000 children who are enslaved and being used for fishing labor on Lake Volta.  Mercy Project goes in and establishes a relationship with the fishermen who are using the children for labor. Mercy Project provides the fishermen with equipment and teaches them how to fish, and in return the children are set free. The children then go to a rehabilitation center run by Mercy Project that helps them recover physically and mentally and prepares them for learning, which is where I will be. I have wanted to do this since I was a sophomore in high school, but the timing was never right and I didn’t get to go. But now, the timing couldn’t be more perfect and I am beyond excited and ready to go. I really believe that God has a hold of my plans and is telling me to go here. My heart is yearning to be with and help those children in need. So, this Fall I’ll be headed to Ghana to work alongside Mercy Project for a semester. Unfortunately it’s a bit costly to get there, so I am asking for your support. In order to get there, I need a plane ticket, passport and visa, immunizations, and some money to have while I’m there, which will be a total of approximately $3,000. I have set up this Go Fund Me page to make donations easy, and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate any help and support given. I also ask that you take the time to look into the story of Mercy Project and get to know their story, and keep them and those children in your prayers and in your hearts. You can do this at mercyproject.net. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me! I am so looking forward to this journey and sharing it with you all!
