Billye Ann and Norm Chemo and Radiation fundraiser
Donation protected
I have MCL, a rare non Hodgkin lymphoma. It is chronic. My prognosis in April of 2015 was 2-3 years. I've been living with MCL for nearly four years. I now have non small cell lung cancer and I am set to begin radiation next week.
My wife has small cell lung cancer, a fast moving aggressive form of cancer that spreads quickly. So quickly that she has already passed on. From her diagnosis Oct. 1st. To her death at 2:40 am November 1st.
We began radiation/chemo therapy October 1st, 2019. The radiation will be given in Morehead, about 33 miles east of Mt. Sterling. The therapy will last 7 weeks and is scheduled for 5-7 days a week. So we will be traveling everyday for the next two months. Billye's white blood count was so low she only had two treatments.
The bills keep piling up. With a $5,000 deductible we see at least 1/3 of our income go to pay medical bills. Thanks to everyone that has donated! But more is needed. Between my wife and I, our medical bills including co-pays, blood work, port flush, and doctor visits eat up so much of our limited monthly income. A monthly income which is $11 too much a month to qualify for snap, medicaid, or extra help with our medicine.
Edited to add: My oncologist gives me a good chance to make it another year.
Anyone would certainly like to live out their last precious year(s) at home.
Thanks again for all the help you guys have given us. Without it we would have failed many months ago. Billye was very sick: heart failure; renal failure; stage 4 lung cancer; COPD she was sick.
There is a special place for those with big hearts!
