Dr. Coronado for AV College Board

Dr. Miguel Coronado is running for the Antelope Valley College Board in the November 2015 Election and needs to reach his goal of $30,000 to successfully complete his public campaign.

Public Service:
He is actively involved in the community, serving on the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station Community Advisory Committee, Antelope Valley Hospital Healthcare District Advisory Board Member, Chairman of the Antelope Valley Hospital Sub-Committee on Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco Project, and Vice Chairman of the Lancaster School District Measure L General Obligation Bond. Dr. Coronado is also Founder of Agents of Change.

Dr. Coronado dedicates much of his time and efforts to his students; Agents of Change (AOC) is comprised of 30 high school and college-aged students who Dr. Coronado and his fiancee Rene' Calderon mentor through the path of education and reaching their career goals.  The group meets biweekly and participates in community service and educational activities. Any high school and community college students are welcome to join the organization.

Dr. Coronado involves his students through various community projects including the M.A.C. (Make Appropriate Choices) Program with Eastside Union School District, projects with the Antelope Valley Medical Board, and the Lancaster Sherriff's Advisory Board.

Educational Background:
Dr. Coronado holds an Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies from Victor Valley College; a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science, a Masters of Arts in Educational Counseling and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership Higher Education Administration.
