Distributing Dignity in NWFL
Donation protected
When a woman is homeless, what does she do when she is menstruating? My project team members and myself are working to provide a solution to this issue. 7% of this country's homeless individuals live in the state of Florida. Our community has one of the highest levels of unsheltered homeless individuals in the nation. While homelessness is on the decline, we are working to provide support to women that are experiencing the stress of homelessness and the reproductive cycle, and bring attention to this delicate matter. We are working with Distributing Dignity to provide feminine hygiene products to Opportunity Place, a local women's shelter. We are collecting unopened boxes of tampons and sanitary napkins in addition to monetary donations. Please help us make an impact in this underserved population.
