Feed 108 families a real meal

Donation protected
The idea of feeding 108 families a real meal with real food started a long time ago, but last year, I was reminded of this idea, when I was putting my food away after coming home from food shopping. Not everything would fit in my fridge and I was annoyed. Then I felt like someone smacked me in the face... I have too much food and it won't fit in my fridge... I am so blessed that I have never known hunger a day in my life. I knew I wanted to do something that showed how grateful I am for that. My husband and I, have always donated to food banks at the holidays,  but we wanted to do more, make it more of a monthly reminder of how good we have it. We started buying 25.00 worth of extra groceries at our local wholesale club.  Each time we went, it felt really good to see the food stack up in our entry way, but then I finally got around to dropping it off at our local food pantry in town. They were so grateful they invited me in for a tour of the pantry.  I asked if there were things they needed? The director said, that coffee and tea are things people really love, but don't get a lot of...that stopped me in my tracks, as a new mom I can't imagine not being about to have a cup of coffee or tea in the morning. They also need simple things like flour and baking power. They also never get chicken breast or fresh veggies and fruits.
I walked out of there feeling grateful for all that I have and wanting to do a lot more than our 50.00 a month could do.
my goal is to feed 108 families a real food meal, I have budgeted out $20.00 dollars per family.
With that $20.00 per family I can buy:

3 lbs of chicken breast or a whole roaster chicken
1 bag of salad
1 bag of carrots
1 cucumber
1 container of cherry tomatoes
1 lb of bananas
3 lbs of apples
and either 1 can of coffee/box of tea

This not only would provide a very wonderful meal for these families, but also some vital nutrients they don't receive.
I am asking you to join me and give what you can financially.  No amount it too small.

5.00 will be a 1/4 of the way to feeding a family
$20.00 will cover one family
and if you want to suponser more than one family that would be most welcome.
All of the proceeds will be going directly to buying the food needed.

Thank you for reading my story and supporting my goal of helping feed our friends and neighbors in the community.
