Hello, Normally I would never ask for anything like this because I feel it hurts my pride and makes me feel as though i failed as a husband and a father.
GoFundMe asked me to write a little bit about my self and why i need this help. For those who dont know me. My name is Rob, and im 31 years old. I met my wife Alyssa in high school. i graduated Argo High in 2003 and enlisted in the Air Force. When I came home, I had alot of emotions happening. Transitioning to civilian life again, finding a career, being 21 was a challenge in itself. My aunt tells the family at easter dinner that she has kidney failure and needs a kidney to survive. whithout hesitation, i spoke up and offered. family laughed it off as they thought I was joking as I normally did, but I wasnt. I went through the 4 months of painful testing and finally on June 30th 2006, I gave my aunt another chance at life. As I moved forward in my career, Alyssa and I had our times of hardship with our son Adam being born 16 weeks early and weighing only a pound, adding two more premature preganacies afterward. In 2010, I noticed that I wasnt feeling like myself. I went to the doctors, had some tests done and they confirmed that I was in stage 3 kidney disease. Since then, it has been a up and down roller coaster of hardships and emotions. Last April, I told my employer that I was sick and I was told that they would accomodate me and make sure all stayed smooth as far as work went. June 22nd 2015, I was working nights when I got the call that my house was destroyed by a tornado. I didnt notice a pattern in my work schedule until about September as I realized my alrteady cut hours were being cut even shorter. I was told work was slow and would pick up later in the year. I call to check up on work in November and I was told that I was let go due to lack of work. At the same time, the company hired 5 more guys. A few weeks later, I was told by my Nephrologist that disability may be a wise option as my work field is physically trying. I applied for disability the end of January. I was told there is at least a 6 month waiting period. So since September, we havent had any income coming in, and have mostly survived on whatever we had saved or from help from family members. We are now in debt with bills and such and have 0 income which is why I humbly ask you for help. Tomorrow, April 13th 2016, I go into the hospital for a week because my kidney function GFR is at a 9 and no longer able to sustain my body. I will have a PICC line inserted until a more permanent solution such as a fistula is placed for more adequate dialysis. In my eyes, any help is positive help, whether its a donation, a prayer, a positive thought or a good vibe sent this way. From my family to yours and from the bottom of my heart, Thank you!
