Sweaty Epiphany
James Morrow introduces his choreography to the greater Boston dance community with an evening of works revolving around themes of performance and ability, patriarchal culture’s conditioning over men and what it means to be male, and the convergence of public and private reality. Coming from an urban background, Morrow yearns to see the classical vocabulary prevalent in concert dance integrated into the hip-hop culture with which he is submerged. His movement has become a fusion of modern, contemporary, and urban dance styles. Collaborations with wheel chair dancer Kris Lenzo, Director Peter Sampieri, and multi-generational dance troupe Across The Ages Dance Theater make for an mélange of multi-media, spoken word, and dance that Boston has yet to experience.
The money donated to this account will go towards general operating expenses such as:
Dance Complex Rental: 1,000.00
Tech support: 1000.00
Airfare for dancer: 500.00
I really need to raise at least 2,500.00 so please spread the word. My resources are limited but with your help, we can make this show run smoothly and show Boston some great choroegraphy.
