Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration

Donation protected
Monday October 12, formally known as Columbus Day will be a free open concert beginning with a Sunrise Ceremony, music, songs, and spoken word from indigenous artists, educators, and speakers from around the globe. The Redhawk Native American Arts Council partnering with the United Federation of Taino Federation and the American Indian Community House will be organizing this monumental event creating a movement to rethink the celebration of Columbus Day and what it represents to indigenous peoples. Beginning at 7am, three and a half miles from the United Nations on the East River of Manhattan we will begin a movement to rethink Columbus Day.

The event is looking for funds to bring in various artists and performers from across the hemisphere. They will be sharing their cultures, stories, and traditions throughout the day. Help us redefine this day into a positive and powerful day in celebration of the survival and resistance of 500 years of oppression and colonization.
