Hello Everyone!
This Go Fund Me is for Anthony Boyer. Anthony is a 26 year old fun loving guy who enjoys spending his free time playing hockey, golfing, and fishing. Anthony was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer about 3 weeks ago. He has since had surgery to remove the tumor, but unfortunately the cancer has spread to his surrounding lymph nodes. This means that now he will require chemotherapy treatments in order to rid him of the cancer. The cancer that Anthony has is called a Non Seminoma Mixed Germ Cell Tumor. This basically means that the cancer he has is a nasty one that likes to spread fast. Fortunately, the cancer is very receptive to chemotherapy! The Oncologist has estimated that he will need three rounds of chemo, which overall ends up being about 63 days straight of chemo on a Monday through Friday basis. This was a big shock to everyone in the family and for Anthony as well.
Right now, Anthony is in the "pre chemo" stage where he is getting many tests done to prepare him for chemo (PET scans, MRIs, Blood work, ect). He will begin his 63 day chemo schedule on 6/22/15 which will consist of a 7 hour day hooked up to the chemo pump every other Monday. This will be followed by Tuesday- Friday being hooked up for 2-3 hours at a time.
As you know Cancer treatments are extremely expensive. Our hope is to lessen the burden in any way possible for Anthony. We want him to focus on health instead of medical bills. This fund would help Anthony cover the cost of uncovered medical bills, as well as cover the cost of preserving his fertility through sperm banking (which is not covered by insurance and is costly). This in turn would ensure his fertility and ability to have a family in the future. Your contribution no matter what it may be is greatly appreciated. No donation is too small in the fight for Anthony to beat cancer!!
