Our hearts hurt. The damage that this fire caused goes deeper than just material things. By the grace of God alone, everyone is unharmed. It was a beautiful day so Amy, Boo and all the kids were down at the lake for an afternoon swim. The dogs were barking at the top of the hill non-stop and they heard crackling noises. There was no stopping the blaze that they found when they ran up the hill. :'(
It was not just a house. A priceless treasure that held unbelievable amount of memories for so many people. It was the heart of the neighborhood. Property that was large enough to split into enough space for Penny's grown sons and daughters. For them to raise their own families on. Amy and Penny were homebodies. Never liked to leave. They both had an open door policy while living in the cabin. Where everyone knew they didn't have to knock, just walk on in and enjoy their company. Coffee was ready for you. There was never a quiet moment as all the kids from the neighborhood, cousins and friends, would gravitate there. The breeze from the lake, shade from the trees and wonderful conversations were the best. Our hearts and prayers goes out to Amy, Boo, Penny, family and friends.
