Eliana goes to VFS animation course
I got an email today inviting me to take part of an introductory animation course in the Vancouver Film School in Canada. A 5-day crash course that gives you the tools to know what needs to be done in this crazy field of artistic entertainment.
The course is described as: "This Summer Intensive features five days of exploring the processes, history, and potential of animation. You will get hands-on experience with classical animation techniques, including exercises that form the foundation of the entire medium. You’ll learn pose and form while creating a 3D model and exploring cutting-edge 3D tools to animate objects. The program will also introduce you to basic visual effects concepts and software as well as creating concept art like storyboards and character designs – leaving you with vital insights into the workings of the real-world animation industry and the variety of exciting roles artists play within a production."
Not only that, the email also stares that "if you apply to a full-time VFS program within 12 months of taking a Summer Intensive, your Intensive cost will be put towards your tuition." That's already a foot at the door and an opportunity I could really use.
For every dollar, $10, $20, or $50, you're helping me reach somewhere where I can get the tips and learning I need to be able to rock as a storyteller and artist.
With the classes taken so far in Puerto Rico and in Gobelins summer course in 2013, there's already a lot of improvement in this short amount of time.
Heck, you are technically also funding the webcomic Cosmic Fish to be able to deliver the best it can be, and spoiler alert, there are animated clips every couple of pages along with promoting local Puerto Rican music as background tunes. So this course benefits the webcomic in more ways than one.
The goal of only $750 (This won't cover the flight, food, nor a place to stay) can be attained with your help, every dollar or sharing this information counts, and I am already grateful of you to have taken up your time to read this.
