Pearl Harbor Pride of Windsor Band

The Pride of Windsor High School Marching Band from Windsor, Colorado is honored to be selected to participate in the 75th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor to be held on December 7, 2016. The band is one of only 14 bands selected for this historic observance, and the only band representing the State of Colorado.
The band will be taking the ceremonial field with The U.S. Marine Corps Band and will be marching in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade. The students will attend a post-parade picnic with veterans and perform in front of the USS Missouri battleship. In addition to touring the Pearl Harbor museum, the students will board a U.S. Navy launch to the USS Arizona Memorial where they will participate in a wreath laying ceremony on behalf of Windsor High School.
Every student will receive a Casualty Card from the U.S. Marine Historical Division. Each card contains demographic information about a marine who was killed as a result of the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Beginning with the early band practices in July through the trip to Pearl Harbor, each student will be practicing and marching in honor of ‘their Marine’. This experience will bring U.S. history to life in a unique and personal way for each band member.
In order to do this, the band needs to raise $2,000 per student to cover the cost of airfare, instrument transportation and lodging. With 100 students hoping to participate - we need to raise approximately $200,000!
