When the NS Budget was passed I made a promise that, as hard as it would be, I would create a website that chronicles all of the film workers who would be forced to leave the province either permanently or seasonally in search of work to support their families.
I believe it is important to show that these people are valuable, vibrant community members who did everything they could to stay in the place that they love, but their pleas fell on indifferent ears.
By chronicling these exits, I want to show the province what has been done, who we are losing and also to serve as an public document to be accessed in 2 years at election time.
This GoFundMe campaign is simply to recoup the fees incurred setting up the site, and keeping the site active for the next 2 years.
I have begun the site (http://www.nsfilmpeopledisplaced.com/), and will be adding profiles as the community members exit the Province. There are also information pages for anyone interested in learning more.
