SOAR Rescue the Rescue Initiative

Southport Oak Island Animal Rescue is a NON-PROFIT (501(c)3) NO KILL Animal Resuce on the coast of NC.  We DESPERATELY need your help to purchase the land where our rescue currently operates!  Due to medical and financial issues, it is critical that the property owner (and founder) sell the land.  She has offered us (SOAR)an exciting opportunity - the 1st option of purchase!!! We have until October 31st to raise the money needed - $100,000.00.
SOAR has always been a privately owned rescue and receives no funding from the county or state.  We have tried to get a loan - but with us being a non-profit - we show no profits - which makes it difficult to qualify for a loan.  We have applied for grants - but for now - that's just a "wait and see" process!  That's why we are coming to YOU for help! 
SOAR does so many wonderful things for abondoned and forgotten animals!  We provide shelter, healthy food, medicines if needed and most of all LOVE!  We have one paid full time employee and 1 paid part time employee - everything else is done by our dedicated and faithful volunteers! 
Dogs and cats offer such unconditional love - but so many times they are seen as "disposable".   But we can give them a 2nd chance!  We can help them to find a new "furr"ever home!  Our owner and founder has done just that for thousands of cats and dogs over the past 20 years and with YOUR help we (SOAR) can keep her dream going by doing the same thing for thousands more over the next 20 years.
