PVD Firefighter overtime data fees

WatchdogRI.org, a non-profit public policy research group, is raising funds to pay for an open records request made to the City of Providence for data relating to firefighter overtime in the city.

The cost of firefighter overtime has been a prominent issue in Providence this year, and WatchdogRI.org wishes to analyze firefighter absences and overtime shifts to gain an understanding of the dynamics that are driving the high overtime costs.

The City of Providence has estimated that the open records request may cost in excess of $1,000.
