According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 12 percent or 7.3 million women between the ages of 15 and 44 have trouble conceiving. This same study revealed 15 percent or 4.3 million married women were also said to be infertile estimating roughly 1 out of every 8 couples in the United States are dealing with infertility.
Waiting Hearts Foundation is a 5013c non-profit organization that serves all counties in North Carolina. Waiting Hearts Foundation strives to break the silence and bring awareness to infertility so no one suffers in silence through education, support, community involvement, and resource. Our services include community outreach including donor sponsored walks, support through our blog, panel discussions, and support groups and advocacy against anti-family legislation.
In 2003, more than 48,000 babies were born in the U.S. as a result of assisted reproductive technology or ART, according to the CDC. That's an increase of more than 2,000 over 2002 and 7,000 more than in 2001. Today In the United States, more than 440 clinics provide services to patients seeking to overcome infertility.
Waiting Hearts Foundation operates in direct response to the growing number of individuals that receive an infertile diagnosis.
When you donate, you are helping us provide scholarships to individuals currently undergoing assited reproductive therapy including IUI, IVF, egg donation and surrogacy. Scholarships are also awarded to individuals actively in the adoption process.
