A Vietnam Vets Camaro resto fund!!

Donation protected
Joe started this campaign with the faith that we will be able to get my Fathers 1st generation 1969 Camaro back in top shape and allow him to enjoy driving it once again.

It was upon returning from his tour in Vietnam, that Dad saw this Dark Blue metallic Camaro Convertible on the Chevy dealers lot in Ashland, Ohio....  He knew this was the car for him....
He went home and spoke with his dad, and they both returned to the dealer. Surprisingly, his dad bought a new car there that day too!
Dad drove the Camaro out to Colorado, where he was stationed until separating from the Army. He then returned home to Ashland, but wasn't back long before moving to South Carolina to work construction with a Very good friend he had served with in Nam.
Dad not only found good employment in SC, but also the love of his life, who happened to be his Army buddy's sister! Hey, you can't deny true love! They were married in 1971 and had returned to Ashland by 1976. The Camaro was there the whole way, through these new adventures in civilian life!
Along came 1983, Mom and Dad had four kids and a Camaro convertible just wasn't a good family car.  That and needing some repairs, It was parked until the time and funds would allow for a refreshing. Of course, working 60hrs a week, and building his own house, and raising a family just didn't afford the time Or funds to focus on the Camaro, and it was slowly moved from the basement garage, out to the barn, where it sat and fell into disrepair with barn cats, birds, cows, sheep, and whatever else choosing to make their mark on it.

Now, Dads four kids, their spouses, and 9 Grandchildren ALL want to see Dad and Mom in the Camaro again(oh yeah, they're still married! 44 yrs now!)
We were able to get new floors for it some years ago(the old were rusted, Bad), but with us all being newly married, serving in the military ourselves and starting our own families at that time, the rush of momentum on the car was overcome with our own life struggles.... And it was reserved to the corner of he barn once more.

This is where you all come in and this great site where we are able to reach out to generous folks of this great world..

Our goal is to restore the Car to a solid, reliable driver, Unless Chip Foose wants to take this one on!!(Love that show "Overhaulin"). We want to see Dad enjoy cruising it once again with Mom.    They've been together almost as long as the Camaros been around, and they are a great example of wedded devotion.

Any and All help is greatly appreciated. Even if it's parts, or restoration services donations, it all helps! The Camaro will be brought to East Tennessee where the work will all take place. Much of it will need to be hired out, as We just don't have the facilities, or tools to take on a project of this scope.

Maybe you own a restoration shop, or a dealership and would like a good PR story....  We'll be glad to be a part of that!

Thank you for your consideration.

God Bless you!
