Help Get K9 Addie Searching Again

Donation protected
K9 Addie is a human remains detection (HRD) dog who  received her first national certification with National Search Dog Alliance in January 2014.  She was the first, and so far, only HRD K9 on the Little Egypt Search and Rescue Team. Little Egypt is a volunteer search and rescue group that covers Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri. Since they are a volunteer group, all of K9 Addie expenses are covered by her owner/handler, Bridget Jackson.

To date, K9 Addie has been deployed on five searches in Illinois and one in Tennessee. She has been able to help law enforcement narrow the search zone in a 40 year cold case in Illinois. On February 9th, she was deployed to a house fire in Alto Pass, Illinois by the Illinois State Fire Marshall. The fire crew had been searching for the home owner for 14 hours when K9 Addie and Bridget arrived. K9 Addie was able to locate the deceased in less than 30 minutes of starting her search. She received an accommodation from the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshall for this work!

At the end of April, K9 Addie tore her ACL and requires a Tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy (TPLO) to repair it. The surgery will be performed by Dr Anderson at Veterinary Speciality Services in Manchester, MO. The projected cost of the surgery is $2300.

K9 Addie is a border collie and like all border collies, she loves to work. She's smart, driven, and full of energy. Please help us fund her surgery so she can get back to the job she loves and continue to help people.

Thank You!
