funding for ivf and surrogacy
Donation protected
I have MRKH which means I was born without a womb. I have functional ovaries however cannot carry my own child.
Me and my partner have applied for ivf and my consultant told us we would be perfect candidates for it and said we met the current criteria for 3 cycles of ivf. We were on top of the world....
However, 2 days later we got devastating news that our local Gloucestershire CCG won't fund it as it's (I quote) " tagged with surrogacy"
Therefore if our appeal is unsuccessful, which is likely, we will not only have to pay for ivf (£3000 a cycle) we have to pay reasonable expenses to surrogate (between £7000 and £15000) .
Any donation big or small will help... However it's not just about the financial aspect for me, it's about raising awareness of MRKH and the devastating effects it has on womens lives.
Glos CCG currently "don't fund ivf if it is associated with surrogacy"
