WE'RE GOING TO THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS!!

We are Visible Spectrum, FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics team #11872. We are a 2nd school based team out Lakeville North High School. Our teams has eleven members, three boys and eight girls, each a different color of the rainbow spectrum! FIRST is an international robotics program that encourages kids to encompass STEM, learn public communications skills, engineering skills, and creative problem solving skills. For more information, please visit firstinspire.org.

Every year, we get a different challenge to solve by building a robot, without any instruction.  At competitions, different components of the challenge are worth different points, and the alliance (composed of two teams) that scores the most points, wins that round. For example, this year, setting a block into a grid in a certain pattern earns our alliance 30 points. The competition involves an “autonomous” (where we can only run preprogrammed programs) and “driver controlled” (where we can use a joystick to control the robot). Besides learning engineering principles, FIRST also teaches us to think outside the box, critical thinking skills, public speaking skills, time management, teamwork and to never give up.

We greatly appreciate any donations towards our team! All sponsors will be thanked and donations over $100 will get their name on our website and will be added to the mailing list of our monthly news letter. Thank you for your time and consideration!
