8-Bit 8th notes...bringing video game music arrangements for orchestra since 2005
Over the past 7 years my arrangements of some of the most popular video game themes have been performed throughout the world in China, Peru, and recently Germany, but for the first time ever I would like to professionally record two of my arrangements in studio to bring the music of Sonic the Hedgehog and Final Fantasy to life!
The arrangements will be Aerith's Theme from Final Fantasy 7 and Sonic: GENESIS, A medley of some of the most well known tunes from the GENESIS years including: Green Hill Zone, Metropolis Zone, Final Boss theme (sonic 3), and Sky Sanctuary Zone.
I have already attempted to get a good recording with the orchestra I contracted, however, because I couldn't provide funds for more than an hour of recording, due to the difficulty of the piece (sonic), the orchestra was not able to finish the project! That is where come in.
I will be contracting the same group, a full 50- piece orchestra via orchestra.net, to re-record Sonic: GENESIS along with Aerith's Theme.
The cost of a recording session with the group is $2500 + per hour. It is a usual minimum 3 hour booking session which would bring us to $7500, with the remaining funds going towards paying for mixing and mastering, licensing fees, and an orchestrator ( will make sure the piece is optimal for recording purposes).
If we raise more than our target, we will be able to record more than the two pieces , which could include the Sonic 2 Ending Theme, Mario Through The Years: A Super Mario Medley, the NES medley, or the Mother 3 suite.

8-Bit 8th Notes was founded in 2005 after lead arranger Cody Chavez attended his first Video Games Live concert. After discovering a sever lack of video game music for concert/marching band and general orchestra outside of those hired by game companies, it was made the mission of 8-Bit 8th Notes to provide the music community some of the world's most beloved video game music and now to release a full studio recording of those works.
