Please Help Tonto Walk Again

Mine and my boyfriend's cat, Tonto, got injured this past week and his tail and legs aren't working. We took him to the vet and after the doctor moved Tonto around a bit, he said our kitty was paralyzed from a spinal injury. He suggested putting him to sleep immediately. So, we took him to another vet later in the day to have him put to sleep, but thankfully, she gave us a second opinion. She noticed an abscess on the base of his tail. Because the abscess is in this area, it is putting pressure on his spinal cord and preventing blood flow to his legs and tail. She gave us antibotics and an anti-inflammatory pain reliever to hopefully make the abscess go away so he can possibly regain blood flow to his legs. Usually, you would have to pay up front at this clinic, but she risked her job by giving us time to pay for the medication. She had even offered to put him to sleep and cremate him for free before she noticed the abscess. The medication she gave us will last a week, but the cost for the medicine and x-rays cost $400, plus $50 per check up.  We really need help paying for his medication and for appointments. He will have to go to the vet every 3 days until his infection is gone. All of our money goes towards rent and bills and we unfortunately do not have enough money to pay the bills for the medication. Abscesses on the spinal cord are very rare and can lead to death, if not treated. There is a chance that Tonto might regain blood flow to his legs, but there's a chance that he might not. There is also a chance that his bones might become too weak for him to regain function because of the infection. I can't put him to sleep when there may be a chance of him getting better.
