Refugee Support in Budapest

Disclaimer - I do not claim to be an expert on this heartbreaking situation. I am merely a proud Texan who is living and working in Budapest. I am an observer who is trying to find a small way to help and invite you to join.
This request goes out to any friends and family who might be interested in supporting the refugees currently in Budapest. These people are mainly from Syria and are fleeing a war torn country by way of various European countries. Thousands have been in Budapest for weeks now, waiting to travel on to their next destination. The living conditions are dire; sleeping on the ground outside train stations with no real hygenic facilities and not enough food. There are many families and hundreds of children. There are very few ways to travel onward, besides the trains which are infrequent and are often stopped at borders and emptied, or other dangerous methods which can result in death. Tensions, as you can expect, are mounting daily.
Local support efforts are in place, but the needs exceed what is out there. Donations of food and basic supplies are appreciated and we are able to deliver them ourselves or get them to people that have the means to deliver them.
If you make a donation, it will go towards people purchasing apples, bananas, supplies for sandwiches, shoes, basic toiletries, mats to sleep on, and whatever else is needed. We are simply individuals living and working in the wonderful city of Budapest who are trying to help. Nothing fancy right now. Just the basics.
Beyond this, we are not sure. The situation seems to change on a daily basis. Many have asked me how they can help, so I thought I'd set this up and see what happens.
