Simple gifts for the homeless in your community.

Volunteers4charlie: a cup of coffee,
a gift card, a pillow, or a bus ticket and YOU!

We are trying to pitch in money to get a bicycle for Charlie but along the way we have come to know some other high risk young adults either living in the shelters or on the verge of being homeless in the streets. Charlie always had a troubled life but never took pity from anyone.

Charlie was a runaway from life. He ran away while he was in high school because he was taunted for being different. He later got his GED at a vocational school for alternative high risk students. He excelled in his chosen vocational program his job training took him to different states to learn but it did not lead to a permanent job placement. His travels took him to different parts of the country, like Denver and Chicago. He got by by working good jobs and stayed with friends he met along his way. Expenses can be are high and friendships can end. He tried renting on his own but that led to further expenses that got the best of him. His friends from Indiana got him a bus ticket home. He loves his family but would rather be on his own. He continues to drift a bit but he's a good worker but finding a place to stay without transportation keeps him busy. His friends and I chip in whereas we can. He could use a bike to get around rather than bumming for a ride to get around town. Will you help restore faith he does not always have to runaway from his life? Help give Charlie a second chance and provide him with additional food too.

Along the way of trying to help Charlie, we have found others whom could use some basic help that we take for granted. In addition of trying to find a bicycle for Charlie, we would like to try to begin a fund to help other at risk young adults. Provide a cup of coffee, a mcdonald's gift card to purchase a meal, a pillow for those without shelter, a skateboard or a bicycle for those needing simple transportation or even a bus ticket to get across town or back home.

Some have shelter and some do not, some have a job and some do not, some have food and some do not, some have families and some do not. Some are actual facebook friends who have fallen on hard times and some are drifters and have no friends

While we may look down on those in dire situations, we are also hearing uplifting stories of those who have had similar experiences of being homeless for eight months or more, working hard to turn events around and create a better life for themselves. Though Charlie may have a rough time, he has a good support of friends who uplifts him and keeps him balanced.

Can you help us help Charlie and help others like Charlie?
