Our Fallen Marines in Nepal

Donation protected
On Tuesday, May 12th, a Marine UH-1Y helicopter belonging to HMLA-469 crashed in the mountains of Nepal. The crew of 6 Marines and 2 Nepali soldiers were on a disaster relief mission, delivering supplies to remote villages affected by the recent earthquakes. There were no survivors.

The purpose of this fund is to raise money for the families of these Marines and soldiers. All money donated will be divided into 8 equal shares and given to the next-of-kin of each of the fallen. If the family members cannot be located, those shares will be donated to the Red Cross' relief fund for Nepal. In this way, we will be continuing the work that they lost their lives doing.

I am putting this together because CAPT Dustin Lukasiewicz, one of the helicopter pilots, was one of my closest friends. He leaves behind a wife, daughter, and another child on the way. While no amount of money will replace him in our hearts, I believe we have a duty to support their families in a tangible way.

With the permission of the families; their photos, names, and stories will be added here.
