Tony Nelson - Stage 3 Lung Cancer

Donation protected
Ann Nelson, a co-worker and good friend of ours at Commonwealth Assisted Living husband has been diagnosed as having stage 3 Adenocarcinoma lung cancer.  We have started this gofundme campaign to help with medical bills and medical expenses that their insurance will not be covering.

Please join us with you support and prayers during this time for Ann, Tony and their two sons; Hunter and Shooter.

See some of Ann’s post on Facebook below…….

Sometimes I over share the pride I have in my children, not often do I get more personal than that, but my hubby could use everyone's prayers. After months of pain and agony in his upper back we finally insisted on having an MRI done. What they found was not what we expected, instead of a blown disc, they found a mass the size of a large lemon on his left lung, this mass is compressing the nerves against his spine causing his pain, which is so intense, it doubles him over. We... had a CT scan yesterday, but because we both got a horrible case of the flu, couldn't be with contrast, (he couldn't keep it down) but hopefully it will be enough for the thoracic surgeon to be able to see what she needs to see to give us a course of action. Keep A's doctors in your prayers, that they are enlightened to know what to do and how best to do it. If your by this way, stop in and say hi! He's been out of work for 2 weeks not and is bored out of his mind, he has way too much time to think. Say a prayer for Shooter who has taken on the brunt of the "man's" work at home while trying to go to school and work in the evenings and Saturdays to help pay for college next year. I know we have tons of support behind us, and we are praying for the best possible outcome, but regardless, he will lose part of his lung and that plus the recovery time scares him. So say a prayer especially for him, for good thoughts and being able to sleep!

Thank you everyone for your prayers and concern for Tony! We didn't get the greatest of news on Wednesday, but our attitude hasn't changed! Tony does have lung cancer. It is a Pancoast tumor, which at this point has attached itself to his chest wall and is holding hands with his rib cage and collar bone. He had an MRI of his brain this morning, and where we don't have a definitive read, they do not think it has gone to his brain, major good news! We start radiation next week, and go in Tuesday for a biopsy so they can tell us exactly what we are dealing with and what stage it is at. Chemo will start the following week. We have gotten a lot of information in the past 2 days and are feeling a little over whelmed, but one thing for sure, this cancer doesn't know who the hell it's messing with! We are going to kick its ass!! Love you all!

PET Scan results are back... there is no OTHER cancer!!! I didn't realize how stressed I was about this until we got the results. I feel like a new person! Now to get on with treating this lung cancer and getting my love his health back and my family their lives back!!!

A had his first radiation treatment today.. FINALLY. We also found out, it is stage 3 Adenocarcinoma lung cancer. Not only treatable, but curable. It has not spread anywhere else but his Rib cage and collar bone, but we knew about that in the beginning, that is why he had been in so much pain. We go tomorrow for his chemo consult and it is very highly likely he will start that next Monday. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers; we appreciate them and you all!
