The UC Davis Taekwondo Club has been established for over 30 years. The club is open to any UC Davis student, regardless of their experience or past training.
Anybody who has been a student athlete understands the difficulty of balancing school, work, and internships with true dedication to a sport. For us, taekwondo is more than just a hobby - it is a passion and a lifestyle. As a team, we have grown together and learned so much from one another. We support each other in and out of the ring, and we always give 110% – but sometimes this is not enough.
This year, 10 of us on the UC Davis team have been given the opportunity to compete in the 2015 National Collegiate Championships held at the University of Delaware. As you can imagine, the combined cost of our team’s airfare, hotel stay, registration fees, and other travel expenses (we eat a lot) adds up fast. Club sports are self-funded; we rely entirely on fundraisers and donations to continue our training and actively attend tournaments and scrimmages.
