Help Girls Rescued from Sex Trafficking

Donation protected
There is a problem.

Sex trafficking of young girls age 12-18 is a serious problem and we want to do something to stop this cycle of abuse.

SweetWater Girls Ranch (located in Itasca County) was started to rescue and rehabilitate these young girls who have had their childhood stolen from them for the sake of sex.

Licensed by MN Department of Human Services, we envision a safe, tranquil home, a ranch, with beauty all around; a place where these young women would heal, grow and be transformed.  Knowing the power to change and heal that comes from connecting with horses, we desire to be a ranch where each girl would have a horse of her own to care for and train.

Working with trained professionals and 24 hour staffing the girls will be enrolled in counseling, life skills training, as well as classroom training on site.    Thus the healing begins.

We are a haven where each girl would connect with God.  We believe that only Jesus has the power to bring complete, life-long transformation.  We believe that only Jesus can heal the whole person, body, soul, and spirit.  He will use us to accomplish this task.

Facts about sex trafficking:

*Average age for girls to be trafficked is 12-14

*Sex trafficking victims experience extreme violence, forced drug use, and constant threats

*The Twin Cities metro area is among the nation’s 13 largest centers for child prostitution with Minneapolis as the home base of a large domestic prostitution ring

*Each month in MN at least 213 girls are sold for sex, an average of five times per day, through the internet and escort services

*On any given weekend night in MN, 45 girls under the age of 18 are sold for sex through the internet and escort services

*Over 50% of all domestic prostitution victims are classified as runaway youth living on the street

*Native Americans are being trafficked at a higher rate than other races

SweetWater Girls Ranch will provide a safe place to:

Replenish physical and health needs
These girls often suffer from serious physical abuse and starvation, which requires long-term treatment and healing. Twenty four hour well trained, licensed staff will meet the girls’ needs for food and shelter.

Education
Most girls are behind in their education and need schooling to improve their skills.  Classrooms and  qualified education professionals conduct classes on-site with the hope of transitioning into public schools.

Spiritual guidance
These girls are deprived of real lasting hope. Through the love of Jesus Christ, they come to realize
their deep value and potential.

T
ransitional housing
Many girls are homeless and are in need of a safe place to live as they heal and transition into permanent housing.

Occupational training
Independent living skills and job skills are needed to help secure success for the future.

Re-unite families
Runaway girls make up a large proportion of this population.  When possible, families will be re-united.

Equine, art, music, and emotional therapy
As a result of the severity of the emotional trauma these girls experience, they need to be provided a  variety of options to receive the needed help.
