Reuniting the brothers.

Donation protected
We are asking for your help in reuniting 3 brothers and therefore completing our family.  Our two little boys, adopted from Ethiopia, have been begging us to find and adopt their older brother.  Amazingly, we did manage to track him down and are now faced with enormous and unanticipated bills to bring him home. Here is our story:

A little over three years ago we decided to adopt one of the 4+ million orphans in Ethiopia.  As soon as we saw David Dawit’s photo, we fell in love.  During the adoption process, we found that his younger brother was with him in the orphanage.  Needless to say, we changed plans and were soon in the process of adopting two little boys!  In November of 2012, we brought home David Dawit and Jack Ashenafi.  Our boys have been a remarkable gift to our family.  They are incredibly resilient and fun-loving and are completely connected to each other, and now to their adoptive family.  Once they were able to communicate clearly, they began to talk about their brother back in Ethiopia.  Our boys kept talking about him and began sharing stories, asking us to “please go back to Ethiopia and bring our brother home.”  We decided to try to find him.  To our surprise, we discovered that he was immediately available for adoption.  As soon as we saw his photograph, we knew that this was the brother of our sons.  When we showed our boys they were incredibly excited and asked us when he would be coming to be with them again.  He had been living in a small village in southern Ethiopia selling charcoal and herding goats to make enough money to survive.  He is painfully thin, wants to be with his brothers, and has already become part of our family despite the fact that he is still thousands of miles away.

We planned, saved and dug into our reserves for three years to be able to adopt our first two boys.  This unexpected (but wonderful!) opportunity to adopt their brother has left us with few options to pay the $30-45,000 plus adoption and travel costs required to bring him home to his family.

Anything anybody can do to help us to reunite these boys and complete our family would be truly wonderful.  Whatever happens we will bring him home.  He is the older brother who took care of our boys when they were very young and their father couldn't feed or take care of them, now it is his turn to be taken care of.
