Rocky's Medical Care/Thyroid Issues
So, who is this handsome young pug?

This is Rocky. Also known by the names of 'Big Boy', 'The Big', 'Rocket J. Pug', and 'Big Big Big'. He is a pug. He is also the sweetest, most darling, most affectionate pug you have ever met. He loves to cuddle, he eats like a horse, and is an all-around pugentleman.
He also needs surgery.
Why for does he need surgery?
A few weeks back, we took him in to get looked at for some concerns I had concerning his health. Those ended up being negligible at best, but after some blood work came back, our regular vet noticed he had elevated/high levels of calcium in his bloodstream, and his phosphate levels were very low.
After some additional tests, plus a visit to a vet specialist later, we were told that Rocky has what's known as a 'benign thyroid tumor' on one of his thyroid glands. There were several options given to us, including non-invasive procedures that would have low percentages of being effective. Surgery, however, would be "curative", meaning it would take care of the problem completely.
As it's a pre-existing condition, pet insurance would and will not cover it, so costs being what they are... well, I've decided to turn to GoFundMe because I love this little man so much. Every little bit helps, and I believe that the Lord will provide however much we need to help Rocky.
Why is Rocky important to my family and me?
He is one of the lights of our lives, he makes us laugh, he's made us cry, and he's given me proverbial worry ulcers from getting stung by wasps, eating a pound of chocolate fudge -with cellophane still on- and living, running out of the yard, and he had to endure the death of his littermate, playmate, and friend a few years back.
As you can imagine, he's been through a lot over 11 years. He doesn't ask for much in return: just food in his bowl, a lap to snuggle up on, and a bed to sleep in. For all the pure joy he's given us, my family wants to give him a good quality of life in return.
