Paul Dang Pham Memorial Fund

Donation protected
On Tuesday May 5th, 2015 the world lost an incredible young boy.  Paul Dang Pham was riding his bike through the mobile home park community where he lives with his father and two friends when he was struck by an SUV driving through the park.

Pauls father held him while the ambulance arrived, but he did not survive the trip to WakeMed Raleigh.

The family, originally from Vietnam, moved to Cary for a better life and more opportunity for their children.  Paul was a 3rd grader at Mills Park Elementary School and was a part of the fully subsidized YMCA afterschool programs and Camp High Hopes.  His parents were doing everything they could to give Paul a better life.

His father shared the day of the accident that he had signed Paul up for another year of summer camp.  Though his father cannot speak fluent English, he was able to share "Paul loved me, he really loved me."

Paul was a smart, polite, and respectiful 9 year old that loved participating in Martial Arts and playing video games.  He loved going to the park to play soccer and riding his bike after school.  Paul was also regularly playing with Legos and spending time with his older brother and grandmother.  Most time and attention came from his father.  Paul was truly a daddys boy.

There has been a makeshift memorial placed at the scene of the accident, but the family is in need of additional assistance.  With limited English and even more limited connections, they are not able to spread the word about their needs.  Our family wanted to help.

When visiting, we learned the family is in much more need than just burial arrangements, but day to day necessities that most of us take for granted.  I understand that money does not have the ability to console, but it can bring peace of mind in other areas of their life during this difficult time.  He and his family lives in a low income part of Cary.

I ask at minimum you assist me in spreading the word by sharing this page through social media and/or email.   Please assist us in helping the Pham family. The family will appreciate your trust that they will wisely choose the best place for these funds to be used to honor their son.
