Jessica Mae Harders Funeral Expense

Jessica Mae Harder, age 27, spent her entire life battling to live while the rest of us just take it for granted. On Sunday, May 3rd, 2015, her body finally had enough and she passed while sleeping with her beloved kitties by her side.
Jessica came into this world without a family and, at age one, joined ours. By age three, she was officially adopted by Debbie and Dennis Harder. She also had her second open heart surgery that same year. All went well for 4 years and then the only daddy she knew died of cancer and it was just Debbie & Jessica. At the age of 7, Jessica started her battle with kidney disease. When Jessica was 11, she received dialysis 8-10 hours every night.
Jessica became a poster child for the National Kidney Foundation and spent numerous hours promoting organ donor awareness. At the age of 12, the wonderful news of a donor kidney came to us and her transplant was successful. Unfortunately, about 6 years later, her new kidney rejected and she was back on dialysis again.
Many more health issues plagued her 4'11" body, including strokes and blood pressure issues. In and out of hospitals regularly, Jessica knew as much about her medical conditions as the doctors and nurses. Sometimes she would tell them so!
Jessica had no insurance and we are reaching out to our friends for help with the costs of final goodbyes and cremation. Her family, friends and fellow surfers will later be returning her ashes to the ocean that she so loved to surf many years ago.
