Remember the Village

Donation protected
Meet Daniel"”born and raised in Toloha, Tanzania, Daniel came over to America in November 2001, leaving behind his wife and his 2-year-old son in the care of his father and mother in his home village. Daniel traveled directly to Kinston to stay with his sponsor, Bernard. A few years after he arrived, his family was able to join in in the USA.

Although Daniel is now in the USA, and was one of our neighbors here in Kinston, he loves and misses his people in Africa dearly. They are in a dire situation without clean water - poverty, poor sanitary conditions, lack of food, sickness, little chance of education and even death are the results from the lack of clean water. While Daniel has continued his education in the medical field here in the USA, he has not given up his passion to continue helping his Village of Toloha, and he continues to have faith that God will do a great work there! He holds this phrase in his heart, "Kumbuka Kijijini," which means in Swahili "Remember the Village." This has become a slogan for the Toloha Partnership Team as they work to bring hope and a future to the village of Toloha. We are so thankful that God brought Daniel to Kinston, NC and has invited us to show the people of Toloha just how much he loves them.

Daniel, and the Toloha Partnership are currently working on a clean water initiative that includes renovating an existing gravity fed water system that is in disrepair. The new water system will provide clean water for over 10,000 people.

The funds raised will be used to renovate an existing gravity fed water system from a mountain stream that will provide enough water for 10,000 people in around Toloha Village. There are about 5,000 people in the area now, so this water system will allow for population growth. It only takes $17 to provide one person with water for life. By reaching our goal of $600, we can make a HUGE difference in the lives of 35 people.

Once the village has clean water, the vision is to continue work in Toloha, which they hope will meet the ministry, medical and educational needs of the village. Join us in helping to change the world.

Sincerely,

Chris Humphrey
