Hi! My name is Kerry and this is my "furbaby" Tobey Wagginstails Fringeypants Carmack...Tobey for short.
We live in Dallas, Texas and have been inseperable since I adopted him from the SPCA in 2004.
He is gentle, kind and loves to swim. He is obsessed with tennis balls and will play fetch over...and over...and over... (thanks to my family & friends who have indulged his fetch-obsession!)
Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with cancer in 2012.
Big bummer, dude.
He has endured 4 surgeries and numerous alternative treatments under the awesome care of Dr. Allison Merrill at Forest Abrams Vet Clinic and Dr. Zachary Wright at VCA Animal Diagnostic Clinic.
Thank you to each of the sweet friends who helped us through the surgeries with kind words and prayers - We could not have gotten through it without your encouragement.
Though he is battling cancer, Tobey remains energetic and adventurous.
I was inspired by a recent article about the Bucket List concept applied to dogs. We started off small & have already checked off some cool items...see?

Unfortunately, the Texas heat and humidity is drastically affecting his health. It is heartbreaking to watch him struggle up a flight of stairs when I know he can run & play in a better climate.
Time to take action:
I quit my job in medical device sales. My *belongings are being packed into boxes and I have given notice to my landlord.
* By "belongings being packed into boxes" I mean I have a bunch of moving boxes sitting around and I am hoping for them to magically pack themselves!
Tobey and I are hitting the road for a bucket list adventure on July 1st!
Tobey is kind, gentle, loyal & loving. He is my best friend and has carried me through difficult times. He deserves the best golden era with love, exercise, adventure & rest in a more conducive climate.

Donations are the most helpful (2+ years of treatment, multiple surgeries, travel costs = yikes!), but we also cherish support in the form of bucket list ideas, leads for a host home or summer housesitting opportunity, and happy thoughts and prayers.
