Brielle's Weightlifting Journey

Over 3 years ago, a young spitfire, Brielle Atkin, first walked into our local CrossFit gym. The staff was giddy with joy for the potential we saw in this new little athlete named, “Brie”. Quickly her drive and ambition, became clear - as we all found out how bad she wanted to “WIN”! Brie put in massive hours, dedicating herself to the goal of winning, for whatever challenge came up. Over the years, she has become a CrossFit Level 1 Coach, and works for us at Crossfit St. George. Her love of CrossFit has over time translated into a love for the sport of Weightlifting. She has quickly become a threat on the National scene within USA Weightlifting.

That said, this is only the beginning for this young girl. I can see this girl going places and representing her community…potentially on a International level! Last month she was invited to the Olympic Training Center to participate in the Junior World TEAM CAMP for 2 weeks of intense training in Colorado Springs, CO, with the current TEAM USA Olympic Coaches. As a student, holding down a part-time job at the gym and training, it becomes tough to meet the National Weightlifting travel schedule financially. Brie has multiple National level meets this year that she needs help getting to.

So…how can we help her? Each event she is asked by her coaches to compete in costs around $1200. This tough little lady has the SKILL, she has the DRIVE…now she needs help with the MOOLA!
