This last weekend the family of a fallen 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division Soldier from Circleville, Ohio, discovered his memorial was defaced, leaving friends and family saddened and outraged.
SPC Gerald R. Jenkins, known to his friends and family as "Bub", was 19-years-old and only 11 days from finishing his tour when he was killed serving in Afghanistan on October 20, 2010. He was buried with full militay honors at Forest Cemetary in Circleville, OH.
A local unit has taken on the task to ensure his memory is honored, covering the memorial with a black cloth cover till it can be replaced. Roger Jenkins, SPC Jenkins father has had an estimate completed to replace the monument and the quote is for $14,000.00. Please help return the honor deserved to this fallen warrior and bring peace to his family and friends. Every bit helps, if you are unable to donate please share.
