Who we are
The Sum is a non-profit organization that has been facilitating diversity workshops since its inception in 2006. Our vision is a world where no one stands alone. Our mission is to unleash the power of our differences: race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, and socio-economic class.
What we're here to do
In response to the stories, concerns, patterns, struggles, and confusion we have seen in our workshops over the years, we have distilled our work around race and racism into a 40 hour web-course--designed for white people--entitled “Dismantling Racism from the Inside Out.” This course will be will automatically individualized by our educational software to provide a series of supportive learning modules to address participant's unique needs and interests. We need your help to produce and disseminate this groundbreaking course!

Budget
Fundraising will occur in four phases. As each milestone is accomplished supporters have the option to see our progress through updates.
Phase 1 – EQUIP - $12k for video, lighting, and sound equipment, computer and editing software
Phase 2 – DEVELOP - $12k develop our unique educational software
Phase 3 – MAKE IT - $25k for videography, travel expenses, professional editing
Phase 4 – IMPLEMENT - $10k for professional to manage educational system for one year (after which time this cost will be funded by sliding scale fees).
TOTAL: 59k
Note: Any surplus will go toward the production of subsequent web-course projects--one for Educators and one called "Cultivating Diverse Community" for the general population. For budget details see The Sum.
