Help us end Period Poverty in Derwentside and County Durham!
Can you imagine young ladies dreading Mother Nature rocking up every month because they can't afford sanitary products?
They use rolled up socks, scrunched up loo paper... anything they can to stop them from leaking through. A lot of them miss school maybe 2,3,4,5 days at a time because they are terrified that people will see that they have their period.... something that is totally natural and is going to happen to all young ladies......
Now imagine that this is your Daughter, Grandaughter or Niece... could you let them go through this anguish on top of everything else they have to deal with to get through school and into young adult life?
It's hard enough being a teen and working to get good grades for a better future, let's relieve a bit of that pressure for them.
We have volunteered to be co-ordinators in the Derwentside and County Durham area for the Red Box Project . By donating money or sanitary products to us you will be helping us to provide packs within schools across our area for the young ladies who need them. No more will they miss school, no more feeling socially awkward because they can't afford products. It's awful that in this day and age we have this going on but we must all fight for a better government and a better way of life your our young ladies.
