Dear friends and family,
My mom was diagnosed in January of 2014 with two kinds of cancer (uterine and ovarian clear cell). Six rounds of chemo later we have found ourselves as a family fighting again, 16 months post chemo.
NOT SO FUN FACTS.....
50% of patients have a reoccurrence with these kinds of cancer. On September 18th, 2015, we were told she had cancer on her liver, which means that she was part of that 50% with a reoccurrence of cancer. We were also told that the disease is probably present in other areas of her body. We were also told patients that experience a reoccurrence of this kind of cancer usually ONLY LIVE A FEW YEARS. What?!?? We don't accept that or believe that to be true. So we fight on....
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
My mom is going to be entering more rounds of chemo again, and yes losing her hair again. My mom and dad already have bills stacked high from her multiple surgeries and the last rounds of chemotherapy. My mom worked through most of her chemo the last time to make ends meet. She is tough!!
Our fears are that, because the more chemo my mom goes through, the more she cannot work this time around because it breaks her body down killing both good and bad cells. Every round of chemo she does it makes it a little harder on her. This second round of chemotherapy will also be paired with ADDITIONAL COSTLY TREATMENTS this time. We are not sure exactly how much we will need to make sure we can afford this. (These treatments involve an RGCC blood test to determine how much cancer is in her body as well as exactly what drugs will work best to kill her exact type of cancer. This blood work will be sent to Greece for this testing. It is possible she might also have a vaccine developed to fight against her exact cancers that will be administered after chemo. This also being paired with diet change and other holistic treatments to rid the cancer from her body.)
Unfortunatley, these cutting edge kinds of treatments are not supported as traditional treatments in the U.S. by most doctors and will have to be done out of the country. It is very costly and not covered by insurance.
This is expensive and my parents need help paying for this. My dad is even selling his brand new Ford Mustang. I hate being on the other end asking people for help. I have always been the one to give through my community service group ESA and not take, but I want the best possible help for my mom. Our family is very close!! I don't know what I, or any of us would do without her. Please donate what you can, and share this often on Facebook and Twitter.
