A Smooth Transition for Shan

Hi everyone! Thanks for taking the time to visit. I'm Shan's sister (not by blood), Alicia. Her friends and I want to raise funds to make her apartment wheelchair accessible, and purchase a wheelchair accessible Van/Car.
She's an active, independent, and detirmined woman. So having a safe, accessible home and vehicle will make her able to live her life to the fullest. The first renovations will be to the kitchen, as Shan loves to cook and entertain her friends. She's also passionate about her job as a teacher, and her next step to independence will get her back in the classroom faster. She's only 30 years old and still has so much to look forward to.
She survived a tragic snowboard accident. After being hit by another skier she broke her neck and is very lucky to be alive.
We don't know what the future holds, but for now she will need her apartment to be renovated so she will be able to perform simple tasks that most of us take for granted.
Shan is currently at a rehabilitation centre and has had improvements with her arm strength, and is gaining more use of her hands. It will be a long road to recovery. We will keep you updated on her small but amazing improvements.
Our community and Shan are well aware that there are many deserving causes. So if Shan's story resonates with you, please consider donating.
